Animal Adoption

Nature brings forth happiness and prosperity to the human kind. To promote a sense of responsibility among children towards animal protection, “Animal Adoption programme” was conducted during morning assembly on 23rd December 2022 on the school premises.  Mrs. Smitha, Head, Dept. of Science introduced the day’s guest Sri C.Selvan, I.F.S. Curator, S.V.Zoological Park, Tirupati to the gathering.

Dr.N.Satyanarayana Raju, Hon.Director & Treasurer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, speaking on this occasion stated that the animals and birds are part of our living and it is our responsibility to nourish and safe guard these animals. He elaborated on the animals which were adopted and the noble qualities which can be learnt from them. He appealed the children to be the animal lovers and appreciated the Science Department, Principal and the authorities concerned involved in the successful completion of this event.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions conducted by Quest Science Club. A cheque worth of Rs.50,000/- was handed over to Sri C.Selvan towards adoption of a Lion for a week, a Black Bug for three months, Indian Star Tortoise and Rose Ringed Parakeet for one year.

The day’s guest in his speech, expressed his concern for the extinction of animals and the increasing rate of extinction in the recent years and the gravest need to keep this under the control.  He also added saying that it is the responsibility of the present generation to safeguard the natural resources and hand over them safe to the upcoming generations. He appreciated the school management for encouraging the students through conducting such programmes.

The day’s guest was felicitated by Dr.N.Satyanarayana Raju garu followed by Vote of Thanks proposed by the student Science Club Secretary.

The programme was witnessed by teachers and students.
