Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sri Venkateswara Vidyalaya, Tirupati organized the 9th International Day of Yoga with enthusiasm.
The programme commenced with Bhavan’s Prayer invoking the blessings of Almighty followed by lighting of the lamp by Swami Sukritanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Tirupati and Prof. P. Murali, Vice Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra, Dr. N. Satyanarayana Raju, Hon. Director & Treasurer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra, and Mrs. A. Vani Sree, Principal, Bhavan’s S.V.Vidyalaya, Tirupati.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. N. Satyanarayana Raju highlighted the theme “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” reflecting “One earth, One family, One future”. Sir emphasized the Bhavan’s motto “Let Noble thoughts come to us from every side” where the founders of Bhavan’s long back realized this theme to preserve the Cultural Heritage of India. He threw light on Chapter IV of Bhagavad Gita where Lord Krishna taught the eternal science of Yoga to Sun God which passed to Manu recommending the path of Karma Yoga or selfless service to manifest the divinity of it.
The Chief Guest Swami Sukritanandaji signified that physical and intellectual strength helps to attend the goals of life through the path of Yoga.
Teachers and Students performed myriad asanas like Vrukshasana, Thadasana, Trikonasana, Padahastasana and various Pranayamas with vigor and vitality inducing a sense of oneness among every one.
The occasion was graced by the Committee Members, Parents and other dignitaries.
