On June 8, 2023, an Informative Cyber Crime Awareness Programme was organized for the faculty members of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati.
The session was conducted by Sri O. Ramachandra Reddy, Circle Inspector, Cyber Cell, Tirupati and his team who highlighted the alarming rise of Cyber Crime affecting both the Government and the Public. Various types of fraudulent activities in the realms of economics and social media were discussed. Practical advice was given, on keeping mobile devices locked regularly changing passwords, avoiding online games, declining anonymous video calls, refraining from sharing personal information during online shopping and being cautious while updating WhatsApp status and profiles. Sri O. Ramachandra Reddy also emphasized the need for vigilance while using platforms like Face Book, Instagram and matrimonial website due to the presence of fake profiles. He also provided important resources for reporting cyber crime such as help line number 1930 and National Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP).
The eye opening and beneficial session successfully raised awareness, equipping every one with the knowledge to safe guard themselves from online fraud and cyber crime.
