“Guru Poornima” a day dedicated to teachers who direct and guide the students on the right path and dispel darkness. Following the Indian tradition, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sri Venkateswara Vidyalaya, celebrated Gurupoornima on 3rd July 2023 on the school premises.
Dr. N. Satyanarayana Raju, Hon.Director & Treasurer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati Kendra, on this auspicious occasion stated, the Guru Poornima also known as Vyasa Poornima is one of the prominent functions celebrated in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. He explained how Vedavyasa, the revered Guru, played a pivotal role in compiling and organizing numerous Upanishads and scriptures, laying the foundation for mankind to tread the path of righteousness.
The day’s Chief Guest Prof. K. Ganapathi Bhat, Department of Advaitha Vedantha, National Sanskrit University, Tirupati imparted valuable advice to students emphasizing the importance of maintaining an open mind and cultivating a spirit of curiosity. Reflecting on the current circumstances, the Guest highlighted the role of Guru in guiding individuals towards right path nurturing their potential. Discussing the qualities of the students, the Guest emphasised the significance of courage and the continuous development of intelligence which empowers them to achieve triumph in various endeavours.
On this occasion, students of Classes IX & X participated. Under the guidance of Sanskrit Department, the students presented a conversation and a song signifying the importance of the Guru and expressing their gratitude.
