Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is striving hard to make all students responsible citizens of tomorrow. Citizenship training is imparted in the school. The primary aim of the school is to transform young children into mature, responsible and self-controlled members of the society. The Principal, staff and the management have total authority to maintain order and control in the school campus.
Students are advised to be very attentive in the class and any difficulty they encounter must be brought to the notice of the teacher concerned, so that corrective action is initiated immediately. Students are required to complete their daily assignments without fail. They should regularly and prepare for the day’s classes. Extra care is taken for weak students during remedial classes. Students must take all the unit tests and preparatory exams seriously as these marks are taken into consideration while computing the final results.
Every student is expected to pay due respect to members of management, teachers, staff and workers.
Students are advised to keep their classroom, school building and campus as neat as possible. They are required to arrange books, shoes, and other belongings neatly where they are put to use.
Any student found stealing or using others belongings without their permission or using articles belonging to the school without the permission of the concerned person will be asked to leave the school immediately.
Lending or borrowing of money or any other article is not permitted. The school is not responsible for goods lost due to lending/borrowing.
- The school places maximum emphasis on the behaviour of students.
- A student should stand in attention while speaking to teachers or elders.
- They should address them appropriately and politely.
- Boys should not put their hands in their pockets while talking to teachers, elders, and senior students.
- Bhavan’s students should maintain decent standard of behaviour and turnout whenever they go outside the campus.
- They should always remember that a school is judged by its students appearances and behaviour.
Great emphasis is laid on discipline, punctuality, regularity in attendance, respect of elders and teachers and fundamental moral values. The outlook is secular but based on spiritual foundation. Students are encouraged to understand and practice their own faiths, parents are expected to co-operate with the school authorities fully in this regard.
PUNCTUALITY IS A HABIT THAT MUST BE CULTIVATED AT ALL COST
- Students must be in school before the first bell.
- Late coming is not permitted.
- Punctuality is also expected in assembly, sports, dining hall, submission of class work, homework, projects, and other assignments etc.
- Habitual late comers will be sent back home at their risk.
- A minimum of 75% attendance is required for a student to be eligible for promotion. Students will be detained for shortage of attendance inspite of good academic performance.
- All pupils must attend school regularly and punctually. Permission for leave must be obtained prior to the pupil’s absence from the class. Leave of absence may be granted for bonafide reasons.
- The students will not be permitted to go home during the school hours except on special reasons. The pupil requiring leave during the school hours must obtain a written permission from the Principal and notify to the class teacher before going away.
- A pupil, who is found to be habitually absent without any bonafide reason of any explanation from the parent/ guardian for more than 15 days is liable to have his/her name struck off from the rolls and will be readmitted as fresh admission only after payment of the prescribed fee of Rs.500/- + fine.
- If the pupil is absent owing to illness or otherwise, he/she must on his/her return, bring a note written on the special page provided for the purpose in the pupil’s diary and signed by the parent testifying to that effect. In case of longer illness .e., lasting more than week, the Principal should be informed n writing by the Parent/Guardian.
- Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, disobedience, dishonesty or conduct in or outside school shall be sufficient reason for expulsion of a pupil from the school.
- English is the medium of instruction and the language of communication in the school campus.
- Students are expected to converse with each other only in English.
- Students must wear school uniform while attending the school, official functions and official outings organised by the school.
- Students are not allowed to go out without proper written permission.
- Out pass has to be obtained from the reception.
- Those who return to school after remaining absent without permission will not enter the school without permission of the Class Teacher/Principal.
- Students have to be very careful in looking after their belongings. They must keep them neat and tidy and always in their appropriate places.
- Students must at all times conduct themselves with dignity both inside the campus and outside. They must respect the elders and greet them whenever they meet them.
- They must not enter or leave a classroom without permission. They must stand when a teacher enters or leaves the classroom.
- Using foul language and impolite behaviour will be severally dealt with and may result in expulsion of the student.
- Students must be punctual report on time whenever they are expected and submit any assignments given, on time.
- Students are expected to be regular and sincere in applying themselves to their studies.
- Students must refrain from causing damage to school property, writing on walls, damaging furniture and dirtying the floor. If any damage is done to the school property, he / she should pay the cost with penalty.
- Students should not collect money for any purpose charitable or otherwise, inside the campus without the permission of the Principal. Students may not circulate novels, periodicals or newspapers in the school.
- We expect our students to have a high sense of integrity. While every effort is taken to instill a sense of moral values, any serious deviation from expected norms of behaviour will be dealt with.
- Stealing, tampering with records, bullying peers or juniors and discourteous attitude to elders are offences that will not be tolerated on any account.
- Pupils coming late shall not be admitted into the class, without the permission of the Principal. Punctuality is essential for character building. If the late coming is repeated, the pupil will be sent back home.
- Pupils must come in neat and tidy school uniforms. No pupil shall leave the school premises during the school hours without the permission of the Principal.
- No pupil can absent himself for a day or a part of the day except on submission of written application from parents/guardian.
- Pupils who are absent from the School without intimation for more than a fortnight will have their names struck off from the rolls and are as an ideal not readmitted.
- Pupils not returning to the school after holidays are liable to have their names struck off from the rolls.
- If pupil is absent owing to illness or otherwise, he/she must on his/her return bring a note written on the special page provided for the purpose in the pupil’s diary, and signed by the parent or immediate guardian testifying to that effect. In case of longer illness, i.e., lasting more than week, the Principal should be informed in writing by the parents/guardian.
- Pupils except the preprimary students are expected to look after their own things. Parents and guardians should see that their children do not bring any costly materials to the School or lend / borrow from others. In any case the pupils are responsible for their belongings and the School is not responsible for any loss or damage caused to their property.
- All pupils are responsible to the School Authorities for their conduct in and outside the school as long they are the pupils of the school.
- Every pupil must possess a copy of the School Diary which should be brought to the Class on all days.
- Pupils will ordinarily be not available on telephone. Parents and guardians in emergency may contact the office who would convey the message.
- Vandalizing any property owned by other students or the school or its employees.
- Possessing weapons or look-alikes in the campus.
- Assaulting, attacking or harassing other students or employees.
- Possessing or being under the influence of any intoxicant, drug, aerosol, or medicines that are not administered by the school medical staff.
- Cheating or copying the work of another, malpractice in tests and examinations, use of inappropriate language or gestures, engaging in calling in names of verbal abuses or make insulting statements about others.
- Displaying affection in an inappropriate way. Public demonstration of affection is inappropriate in a school set up.
- Fighting or prompting a fight, or any other form of violence.
- Bringing mobile phones, radios, video tapes, DVD, CD and VCD players, video games, cameras, electric, electronic gadgets which are not permitted in the school.
- Making loud and disruptive noise in the school corridors and class rooms.
- While using computer- sending or receiving obnoxious messages, stories, pictures, scribbling or writing on benches and slicing paper notes etc.
- Damaging or defacing school property: Causing of damage to any property is strictly prohibited. Students are expected to respect the property of others including school property. No student should be taken or deface any school furniture, fittings, structure or property. Severe disciplinary action will be taken against students who cause such damage. In addition, a heavy fine would be levied. Damage caused accidentally should be reported at once to the class teacher. For any damage where the offenders cannot be traced, three times the cost of the article will be recovered from the students of the entire dorm or class concerned.
- Absenting from the classes without prior permission.
- Breach of Discipline: The school authorities will inform parents to any severe breach of discipline by their wards.
- Students will be counselled on minor in disciplinary acts. On major in disciplinary acts they will be issued with a warning letter and parents will be informed of the same.
- On issue of warning letter for major in disciplinary acts, the disciplinary committee will recommend the matter to the principal for handing over the TC to the child.
- The school reserves the right to suspend or to take strict disciplinary action against a student whose conduct is harmful to other students.
- Smoking, chewing tobacco, gutka, paan, etc is strictly prohibited. Students indulging in such activities will be removed from the school forthwith.
- Any student found in possession of obscene books, pictures, video, audio cassettes etc will be dismissed from the school immediately.
A student suspended from school for in discipline acts mentioned above, shall not be allowed to attend school and the parent will be informed to take their ward. This is to ensure firm discipline in school, so that children can be corrected early & parents and school together mould the child to grow positively.
Discipline is of paramount importance for grooming a child to be a good citizen. We request parents total co-operation and ensure that the child obeys the school rules implicitly. The school has a policy on discipline which clearly stipulates as follows:
A Warning letter followed by the suspension and the matter will be referred to the discussion on their recommended, further action will be initiated which may lead to the issue of T.C
Note: In case of drinking, drugs, bullying, damage to school property defiance to school authority and any violent act will entail immediate dismissal from the school. The management reserves the right to remove a student from the school due to the gravity of these offenses.
The following category of students will be removed from the school:
- Who in the opinion of the management, Disciplinary Committee is not likely to benefit from continuing his/her education at the school.
- Whose conduct is considered detrimental to other students in the school.
- In event of a student being removed from the school, for gross in discipline acts stipulated above, the fees or any charges shall not be forfeited & cannot be refunded under any circumstances. An undertaking (undertaking-1 enclosed) to this effect is to be given by the parents in the application form at the time of admission. The school management reserves the right for refund of any deposit etc as per rules & the parents of the ward will not have any claim on charges other than refundable by management.
