‘Kartheeka Masam’ is an auspicious month and is known for spirituality.
“Kartheeka Gnanamrutham”, a series of discourse was organized by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati on 15th and 16th November 2022 in the school auditorium with a noble objective of inculcating spirituality among students.

On the Inaugural Day (15.11.2022), the Chief Guest was Dr. Gali Gunasekhar, Retd. Principal & Writer, K.R.K. Degree College, Aadanki, highlighted the significance of Kartheeka Masam and the various rituals followed during the month. That was an erudite session focusing on enhancing pupils’ concentration and listening.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr. N. Satyanarayana Raju acclaimed Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan to be a realm of Culture and Values. He also praised the day’s Chief Guest to be an epitome of knowledge and an elite scholar and wished students should get inspiration from such a profound author.
Dr. N. Satyanarayana Raju Garu in his speech elaborated on the importance of trees in ancient Indian Culture. He quoted the 1st line “Urdvamulam Aadaha Shakham Ashwartham” from the 15th Chapter Bhagavadgita which means the omnipresence of God in trees. He recalled the words of Sri K.M. Munshi garu, the founder of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan that “Trees are important for human survival” which instilled the thought of ‘Vana Aradhana’ celebrated every year ever since. He elaborated on the various benefits of trees and appealed to everyone to protect trees and safeguard our Culture.
On the following day (16.11.2022) Karthika Vana Aradhana Mahotsavam was celebrated to bring up a sense of responsibility and concern towards Nature. As a part of this event, Dr. N. Satyanarayana Raju, Hon. Director & Treasurer, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Tirupati, Executive Committee Members, School Managing Committee Members, Vice Principals, Teachers, and Students adored the sacred trees like Peepal, Amla, Tulasi, and Neem and vouched to protect them.
The day’s Guest Prof. Swamy Vasista, Secretary, Sadguru Kshetram, Tirupati elucidated the prominence of Karthika Masam with examples and stories. He also said these rituals aim to bring humans close to nature and concluded by saying, that human efforts accompanied by the bliss of the almighty lead to success.
The programme concluded with felicitations to the Chief Guests followed by the Vote of Thanks.
Vana Aarahana was followed by the ‘Vana Bhojanam’ luncheon in the lap of nature emphasizing unity and harmony among people.
The event was graced by the Executive Committee Members School Managing Committee, Teachers, and Students.
